Can you guys believe that we have less than a month of Fall left? Winter starts on December 22nd, but judging but the bright sunny days we’ve had every single day so far this month, I don’t know if the weather will change much. Still, the time just flew right on by. With the time that we do have left to enjoy amber leaves, sunny days and fall fashion, I thought I’d release la liste of 10 must-have timeless essentials.
THE LIST
-beanie
-plaid scarf
-chunky knit sweater (and/or sweater dress)
-cotton turtleneck
-embellished belt
-classic trench
-leather jacket
-dark denim
-black or brown booties
-calf length boots
*note: if you’re not a hat person, swap the beanie for tights!
For me, I wear a beanie about as often as I wear tights, which is about 20% of the time, but since my hair is susceptible to doing the poof on foggy days, I added a beanie to my list instead of stockings.
This list contains items that for the most part, feature in all my fall/winter outfits. I don’t know when booties became the new everyday shoe, but I wear booties about 60% of the time. Outside of that, any leather or biker jacket is a frequent favorite and who can live without dark denim? I can’t.
Look at this list and, using additional items you own, put together outfits for most occasions: work, happy hour, Sunday brunch, date night, etc. I’ve come up with a few for inspiration below.
Outfit 1: The IT Girl
Cotton turtleneck, embellished belt, dark denim, leather jacket, black booties.
Outfit 2: Cute n’ Cozy
Chunky knit sweater dress, opaque or fishnet tights, classic trench, calf length boots.
Outfit 3: Bloggirl
Beanie, plaid scarf, v-neck T, high waist jeans, booties and trench.
Outfit 4: Girlboss
Cotton turtleneck, pencil skirt, tights and trench (throw on the scarf in chilly temps).
Outfit 5: Fashionista
Leather biker jacket, sweater-dress (midi length) and booties + layered long necklaces and lots of rings.
What are some of your go-to looks in the fall/winter season? I have a hard time getting motivated on dark, cold mornings so I usually plan my outfits the evening before. I’ll have a post on how to plan outfits soon, but I’d love to see any special blog requests in the comments section!
