Hi – have we met? I’m a Forever 21 shopaholic. Unfortunately I’m no longer age 21 but I spend money at Forever 21 like I still am. Despite their new, expanded brand inventory, I hear a lot of people saying that they’re too intimidated to shop there.
In some ways, Forever 21 is the Ross of my generation. It is always crowded, items are haphazardly strewn all over the place, employees would rather tie there shoelaces together and walk backwards blindfolded than get something off of a high rack or shelf (and don’t even bother asking them to take the last of something off of the mannequin) and furthermore, the best items are snatched up so quick it’s almost like they never existed.
*Cue angels singing* This is when shopping online is going to be your best friend.
I know, I know – online shopping isn’t for everyone. But it is for everyone shopping at Forever. Honestly, I can’t stress that enough. Forever recently partnered with a bunch of brands meaning that we as customers get one, low delivery fee and we also get to discover a whole lot of new, stylish items that should call our closets home. This also means more rewards points for those of us with an F21 credit card.
For me, I do the bulk of my shopping online. Mostly because I’m too busy to go to an actual store but also because there is a much wider inventory to choose from. Here are my tips for shopping Forever 21 virtually.
Register for email alerts.
That is probably the last thing you were expecting me to say but I feel that the email ads are tailored to my personal style, and they usually contain information about what is on trend, on sale or even discount codes.
*Bonus Tip* if you do go out to the store, you can use your discount codes there as well as have them look up your credit card number if you forgot to bring your card.
Utilize the search engine.
There is shopping and then there is overloading – that feeling of shopping mania that completely takes over your cart and wallet and you end up with a huge purchase that you almost instantly regret. In my email drafts I keep a running tab of items I’d like to add to my wardrobe. These might include: velvet leggings, satin camisole, pink purse. When I open up my shopping browser I refer to that list and search for my wants first, instead of stumbling upon new arrivals that I haven’t given much thought to before buying.
*Bonus Tip* filter your search results by your size (i.e. large tops, 12 pants, size 7 shoes, etc.) that way you don’t see an item you love only to discover your size is sold out.
Don’t shop trends when they drop.
Okay, trust me on this. There are (2) ways to shop F21 online. First, that is to buy an item as soon as it is available. I totally endorse this method, as long as you are buying an item you will truly use. I prefer to wait until the item has been on the market for awhile or until it is restocked. This is because by then, the website will have new releases and it is more likely that the prices of these items will go down.
*Bonus Tip* Add items to your wishlist if you want them, but don’t want them right now.
Invest in high-use pieces.
There are certain items I rarely buy from Forever 21. These include shoes, faux-piercing jewelry and skirts. But when I want an item that I know I will use often but I can’t spend a high buck, I turn to Forever. They have a huge stock of jackets/coats, sunglasses and bags that are great value, yet stylish enough that no one will care they aren’t name brand.
*Bonus Tip* try going into the “shop by edit” for a quick filter of hot, new products.
Stock up on accessories.
Anyone who has ever shopped at Forever knows they have accessories galore. Let’s say you want to get free shipping but you’d have to spend $75 or more – adding a cute choker, pair of socks and stylish wool beanie will have you as close to the free delivery minimum as possible while still adding items you’ll use.
*Bonus Tip* have your items shipped to your local store #dasfree and you don’t have to wait around for the delivery person.
I wouldn’t go so far as to call myself a Forever 21 Online Shopping Ninja but…pretty darn close. I have their credit card, so I frequently am gifted with $5, $10 and sometimes $25 off coupons depending on my spending and payment habits.
I love that F21 offers plus size, men’s clothing and beauty items online as well. Though I only frequently purchase plus items from that list, the others are a great go-to for small or last minute holiday gifts. I have gotten Warriors gear, makeup brushes, stocking stuffers and more, in a pinch.
If you’d like to see some of my F21 fashion, find me on Instagram! I post so many OOTD’s and half the time, all of my pieces are from Forever. At this point, they should be paying me.
If you have any other questions, leave them in the comments!
