In my humble opinion, accessories are just as important as the outfit itself, especially earrings because they bring a bit of sparkle and interest to your face. Most of the time I’m more of a studs girl, but I do have a fair amount of statement earrings in my collection. I thought it would be fun to do a little lookbook and explain how I like to wear my favorite pair of statement earrings.
Gold Hoops
Every girl needs a great pair of hoop earrings in her jewelry collection. I probably own 5-6 pair of hoop earrings, but these are some of my favorite because of the slightly thicker hoop at the bottom of the earring. I think it elevates the style and makes it more than a simple hoop earring. I prefer to wear these when my hair is down, but they also look great with a high pony. The best thing about them? You can basically wear them with any outfit and the earrings set off the look perfectly.
Pink Clusters
This is one of the oldest pair of earrings I have featured in this collection. I think they are sort of stud earrings on steroids, making them somewhat wearable for those that prefer to wear simpler earrings. These look great with hair pulled back, and are best paired with day dresses and classic separates but they also look great for work outfits without being over the top.
Butterfly Trail
I have to admit, for me, these earrings are a bit on the youthful side, but something about them was so irresistibly whimsical that I had to purchase. Because I don’t have a very long neck, dangling earrings like these give the illusion of more space between my jaw and shoulders. I like to wear these earrings with anything floral and with strapless or off the shoulder.
Moon and Star
I am a moon addict—like anything with a moon on it, I will pretty much buy. When I found these earrings online I was basically drooling (honestly, I considered buying two pairs lol). I tend to rock gold over silver, though I think these didn’t come in a golden finish, but it is nice to have some silver variety in my earring collection. I love pairing these earrings with edgier looks that involve black or white and leather. If you’re doing a pop of blue, purple or green with eyeshadow, these earrings compliment those kinds of bright looks perfectly. The only downside I’ve found is that I look weird wearing these with my hair pulled back.
Golden Disks
I love the chic simplicity of these earrings. They are large enough to make a statement, but they aren’t as intimidating as some other statement earrings. And unlike my moon earrings, these look excellent when I’m rocking my hair back in a low, sleek bun or ponytail. They’d look great on you too if you have a bob or lob. I love wearing these with anything striped, red or tops that have mock necks or boat necks. I had trouble getting a good close up shot of these, but they are pictured in the group photo of earrings.
70’s Chandelier
These are my favorite earrings of the moment. They feel so stylish and retro. These look great with simple dresses and off the shoulder or strapless tops. They basically look amazing with any color outfit, any hair style, and any occasion. Of all the earrings in my lookbook, these I recommend the most.
Pink Puffs
I have an addiction to the color pink. It’s not even my favorite color but I buy it nonstop. When I saw these earrings I instantly picked up a pair, but I will say they aren’t the easiest to wear. They look great with hair down, but I find I get a lot of makeup on them (which is why I have a backup pair lol). I haven’t tried washing them or anything, but that might work. If you like pops of pink in your overall outfit, coordinate these with a floral top, a purse scarf or a pair of pink flats.
Deathly Dangles
If you don’t know what this symbol is, immediately stop reading this post and go to a book store and buy all the books in the Harry Potter series. These were gifted to me from a close friend and I love being able to nod to one of my favorite film/novel series of all time while still being stylish. Because of the geometric design, I like to wear these earrings with prints. They work well with hair down or pulled back and pretty much any neckline. Overall an easy and minimal yet still statement piece to wear.
Tambourines
I have nicknamed these earrings tambourines because they make a lot of noise. If you’re sensitive to that, I’d definitely not buy any earring like this. I have worn them to work before and noticed a few looks when my earrings were making too much noise. Instead I recommend them at pool parties or outdoor events, to the beach and with anything flowy and frilly. They also look great with almost any color or print and any neckline. They can be worn with hair up but I prefer to wear these with my hair down as it muffles the noise a little bit.
What did you guys think? What pair of earrings were your favorites? If you’re wondering where I purchased them from, they’re all from Forever 21 except the Deathly Dangles. Most of them were under $10 dollars as well. I love how statement pieces like these can take any basic look and turn it into something glam. I hope you liked this post! Let me know if you’d also like to see a necklace and ring lookbook, or more individual photos of how I wear these earrings.

Thank you! I totally agree. Earrings can really enhance the face. Thanks for reading!
