Hi guys! I have recently (1/26/17) updated swatches of all of the Colour Pop lipsticks I own–including lippie sticks, ultra-mattes, ultra-glossies, satin lipsticks and one metallic. All of the swatches are done without lip liners and in indoor lighting. I purchase new shades all the time so be sure to scroll through all the colors for updates and new content. Enjoy =)
In general, the Colour Pop formula is one of my favorite of the liquid lipsticks that I have tried. These are more on the liquidy/watery side. They do take a minute or two to dry down, and you don’t want to smack your lips together before these lippies are dry. They are very affordable, long lasting, (mostly) transfer proof and comfortable to wear but it is essential to layer them over a lip balm. My lip balm of choice is simply plain Chapstick. Something to provide a barrier for your lips to seal in moisture as well as a good base for the lipstick to adhere to is best. I do believe Colour Pop makes their own lippie primer but I have never given it a try.
The lipsticks do vary slightly in formula from shade to shade; I find the neutral and darker tones tend to be creamier and more comfortable. Try mixing more than one shade together when wet, layering a satin lip on top, a lip gloss or even layer on the NYX soft matte lip creams! There are a few colors (Succulent, Buds and Highball) that are streaky and chunky…but other than the few bad apples I love these and wear them almost every day.
For a lipstick, I do like these. They have a sleek design better for carrying in a clutch or makeup bag (a back pocket, not so much) and the color payoff is great. I do disagree with the term “matte” when it applies to these lipsticks. There are no true mattes of the original Colour Pop lippie sticks that I have tried, but their new Matte X formula is a great matte that doesn’t dry out the lips and almost feels powdery on the surface. Of the original lippie sticks I would name Tootsi as the closest to matte but at best most of them are a semi-matte or satin-matte finish.
These lip glosses are great in many ways. They are super opaque, comfortable to wear, long lasting for a lip gloss and they don’t feel sticky on the lips. I will say some shades have an issue where the pigment separates into the cracks/wrinkles of the lips. Other than that, they are worth every penny.
I have a good amount of these in my collection. For some reason I was expecting the formula to be somewhat sheer but I was very surprised with how pigmented and rich the color payoff is. I also love the soft, cushiony feel of these. They don’t take too long to dry–maybe a minute or so, but they will appear more satin or shiny until blotting the lips together. These lipsticks last well throughout the day though they do transfer and remain somewhat tacky the entire wear time.
Unfortunately I do not have too much to say about these, as I currently only have one in my collection. From what I’ve experienced, the color payoff can be a bit patchy or streaky and the lips remain tacky throughout wear. Not sticky like a lip gloss, just a mild tug when smacking the lips together. I will say however I didn’t see much transference or loss of shine when pressing my lips together.

the nude shades will also include any “your lips but better” shades.
I need a lip liner with this one, obviously lol
this one is pretty light, too but with a lip liner I could pull it off. it would also be great for an ombre lip look
the color I wear most often (I have already purchased a backup). it is rumored to be a close dupe of Lime Crime Cashmere and Bow N Arrow by Kat Von D.
this shade is so good it’s unreal, although it isn’t an everyday color for me
very similar to ABH Veronica.
more of a satin/gloss finish. for some reason this one makes my lip skin peel.
this is a peach-nude shade most suitable for light to medium skin tones but wearable for deeper skin tones by blending with a darker liner. the transfer of this lipsticks is noticeable but not drastic as shown below.
this is a cool grey tone, but applies a bit streaky
I love the opacity of this black! I will say it has to be blotted or patted to go completely matte and the smell of this lipstick is similar to nail polish, but a great inexpensive black liquid lipstick
wanted this to be my perfect 90’s brown…didn’t live up to my expectations. still a great brown shade.
if you’re comparing between this shade and limbo, limbo is a much richer, darker brown
this color is a dupe for Coloured Raine’s Soul. it reminds me of wet cement.
this formula is creamier than most, comparable to a satin lip
don’t know what took me so long to purchase this shade but it is the perfect brown-girl brown.
this formula stays tacky during wear and applies slightly streaky but the shimmer/metallic doesn’t transfer or linger after removal
such a beautiful gloss to compliment any skintone. I will say, the glitter/sparkles get everywhere! but there is so much glitter, almost like the limecrime diamond crushers
this is a collaboration shade with Kathleen Lights. I would describe it as a cool-neutral brown with slight pink undertones. as soon as I saw this shade I knew I had to have it and it definitely lives up to the hype. also please ignore my awkward hand down there.
this color was made in collaboration with ItsMyRayeRaye. it is a dupe for Jeffree Star’s Androgyny. for some reason this color takes longer to dry than the other ultra-mattes I have tried.
Dupe for Dose of Colors Stone.
this is absolutely my favorite gloss ever

this color reminds me of the Morphe/Ourfa Zinali collaboration color that is not yet released for purchase. it is very creamy and wearable—one of my faves.
this is the first satin lip I purchased. feels very similar to the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams and definitely wears the same meaning that it does maintain the shine, does transfer and will need to be reapplied periodically. it remains somewhat tacky on the lips and I noticed my hair sticking to my lips like it would to lip gloss.
this color is a vibrant hot red/orange. unfortunately it applies streaky and patchy and gets chunky when you try to layer it. for that reason I have never attempted to wear this color. sidenote: this eyeshadow/lip color combo is making me feel a little bit Jessica Rabbit-esque.

this shade is on the chalky side. it applies streaky and is hard to wear. and it makes my teeth look yellow. perhaps it will be discontinued/reformulated…
this gloss….just, ugh! so good, you have to get it
a hard shade for me to pull off alone, but nice blended with a lip liner or used for an ombre lip look.
with the exception of this being a satin-matte finish, this shade is a dupe for Lime Crime Utopia.
this color can be a little streaky and is a challenge to wear alone. my recommendation is to layer it over a lip balm and blend with a lip liner.
this is the hello kitty shade, which is also a dupe for Jeffree Star’s doll parts
I am not sure if this was part of a limited edition launch; it was a gift from my friend Jenni. I have it in the black, frosted packaging and it is so comfortable to wear
this is a neon barbie pink that can be a little challenging for me to wear. it has a slightly patchy formula but I love it and wear it anyway.
P U R P L E S
very pigmented and comfortable to wear.
dupe for MAC Heroine.
looks almost black on my lips but is a very dark purple; totally love.
dupe for Kat Von D L.U.V
this is a pastel vintage mauve shade perfect for any season.
the last picture is what it looks like after smacking my lips together to remove the shine.
feels thicker than the other ultra-mattes. it is a slightly brighter version of ABH Craft.
very pigmented and comfortable to wear.
I get so many compliments when I wear this lippie! it is very comfortable and universally flattering, IMO
